The Role
The Welding Apprenticeship Program is a 90 day, part time training opportunity designed to bridge the gap between technical school completion and full time employment. This program provides hands on experience, structured mentorship, and skill development in a real world shop environment.
Apprentices will work closely with experienced welders to build proficiency in core welding processes, strengthen safety awareness, and demonstrate the reliability and professionalism required for long term success. This program allows participants to refine their technical abilities, gain exposure to company standards, and prove job readiness through performance and a final welding qualification test.
During the apprenticeship period, participants will:
- Attend scheduled shifts (up to 30 hours per week) and maintain consistent punctuality and reliability
- Work under the guidance of an assigned mentor to develop welding skills and practical experience
- Assist with material preparation, joint fit up, welding, and finishing tasks
- Practice and improve welding techniques across various processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Cored)
- Follow all company safety protocols, procedures, and quality standards at all times
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and weld symbols with increasing independence
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
