 JOB SUMMARY

Work in the Welding Shop making welding and other mechanical repairs to a wide range of equipment including many types of agricultural implements and irrigation pumps. Fabricate a wide range of agriculture related equipment and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform quality welding with various processes including Stick, MIG and TIG on various metals including mild steel, stainless, and aluminum.
  • Perform quality groove and fillet welds in various positions including horizontal, vertical up, and overhead.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble various drive systems that could include chains, sprockets, bearings, shafts, belts, and sheaves.
  • Work on simple hydraulic cylinder circuits safely, this could include rebuilding cylinders.
  • Work with hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble various implements including discs, chisels, stalk cutters, rippers, mulchers, and module builders.
  • Drive to the field and work independently to complete assigned tasks.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English; knowledge of Spanish is desired.
  • Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and dimensioned technical drawings.
  • Be able to take verbal and written direction from supervisors and effectively communicate back.
  • Be able to complete detailed maintenance reports and other technical documents.
  • Be able to communicate and work with coworkers.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Must be observant, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Must function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have desire and ability to learn.
  • Must work in a safe manner following all rules, guidelines, and company policies.
  • Must report to work in a timely manner ready, willing, and able to perform the essential duties.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school education required. AS degree in welding technology desirable.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or Solid works desirable.
  • Experience running machine tools such as lathes and milling machines desired.
  • Have the ability to layout a project straight, square and plumb.
  • Have an understanding of distortion control and when to pre-heat and post-heat.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Valid current California Drivers' license, with less than two points required.
  • Past welding certifications desirable
