Our partner is seeking multiple skilled and experienced Welders to join their team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG welding and blueprint reading, with a strong commitment to quality and safety. As a Full-time Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to specifications and blueprints in a factory environment.
This is a full-time position and 2 shifts are offered. First shift is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 430 pm. Second shift runs four ten hour days, Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 3:30 am. Overtime is available, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on various metals and alloys, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements
- Set up welding equipment, including power sources, wire feeders, and shielding gas systems
- Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials based on job specifications
- Fabricate metal components and structures according to blueprints and engineering specifications
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements
- Perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing metal structures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators, engineers, and quality control personnel
- Troubleshoot welding equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to supervisors
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development to stay current with industry advancements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a professional welder
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment
- Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of various metals and their properties
- Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
- Experience with other welding processes (TIG, Stick) is a plus
- Valid welding certification(s) preferred
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
