Based in Venice, Florida, we specialize in the repair and overhaul of Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6, PW100, and JT15D hot section components.
SUMMARY: The Welding Technician I is responsible for executing precision welding operations on various aerospace components and structures, ensuring compliance with strict industry standards and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity and performance of critical aircraft parts through quality welding and repair.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform TIG welding on aerospace components, adhering to precise specifications.
Read and follow technical manuals, verbal instructions, blueprints, and work orders on a daily basis.
Apply repair instructions and/or Engine Manual requirements to restore components to operational condition.
Use fixtures, tungsten arc, automatic welding equipment, and hand welding techniques to repair worn or damaged areas, including cracks, on aircraft parts.
Weld, blend, grind, and polish weld buildup on worn or defective surfaces to meet quality standards.
Work with various aerospace materials such as Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum.
Operate specialized welding equipment, including Dabber TIG and Electron Beam machines.
Maintain active welding certifications in specific welds and materials as required.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):
4 years of relevant technical experience in welding.
Bachelor's degree or 2 additional years in lieu of a degree
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and data.
Ability to operate welding equipment independently.
Basic understanding of metal behavior and movement during the welding process.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):
Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Prior certifications for welding Titanium, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel.
Familiarity with heat treatment processes.
Blending and finishing experience.
