Key Responsibilities

  • Program, modify, and optimize robotic welding programs using teach pendants
  • Set up and debug robotic MIG welding cells, including robots, weld power supplies, positioners, and fixturing
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes, including first-article runs
  • Troubleshoot weld quality issues, robot motion faults, and equipment downtime
  • Perform changeovers and adjust welding parameters to meet quality and cycle time targets
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout, and robot cell safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation for programs, setups, and process changes
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to uptime, quality, and productivity

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with robotic welding systems
  • Experience programming robots using teach pendants
  • Solid understanding of robotic MIG welding processes and weld parameters
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, weld symbols, and basic GD&T
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and process issues
  • Willingness to work on the shop floor and support production as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Panasonic and/or Fanuc robotic welding systems
  • Experience in a high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with welding power supplies, wire feeders, and torch maintenance
  • Basic PLC or I/O troubleshooting experience
  • Offline programming or simulation experience (a plus, not required)
  • Welding certification or formal robotics training

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and industrial equipment
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required
  • PPE required per plant safety standards
