Position Summary
The Mechanical/Welding Technician is responsible for performing repairs, fabrication, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting overall production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment and systems
- Fabricate parts and components as needed to support maintenance and production needs
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Complete welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any potential issues
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of mechanical maintenance and welding experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick) required
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
