Custom Metal Fabricator & TIG Welder
Location: Hanover, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Overtime: Additional hours and occasional Saturdays as needed
Pay: Starting at $24.00/hour+ based on experience and skill level
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Custom Metal Fabricator & TIG Welder to support the production of fabricated metal assemblies and custom railing systems. This role combines layout, fitting, fabrication, assembly, and TIG welding responsibilities in a manufacturing environment focused on quality craftsmanship.
The ideal candidate has experience working with aluminum and stainless steel, can read fabrication drawings, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Layout
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production specifications.
- Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials for assembly and welding.
- Fit and assemble metal components using fixtures, clamps, jigs, and layout tools.
- Verify dimensions and alignment prior to final welding.
- Resolve fit-up and fabrication issues to ensure quality and efficiency.
TIG Welding
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and similar materials.
- Produce welds that meet appearance and structural requirements.
- Inspect completed welds and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the fabrication process.
Equipment & Material Handling
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, notchers, and other metalworking tools.
- Move materials and completed assemblies using forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting equipment when required.
- Perform routine care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Production & Safety
- Follow work instructions, drawings, and established fabrication procedures.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining workmanship standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
- Adapt to changing production priorities and workload demands.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated TIG welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and dimensional specifications.
- Experience using tape measures, layout tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of fabrication math, including measurements, fractions, and basic geometry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication, fit-up, and welding issues independently.
- Experience operating fabrication machinery and metalworking equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekend hours when needed.
