Main Purpose:
The Assembly Welder supports the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components by performing basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly tasks. This role is also responsible for the safe and efficient production of enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.
Essential Functions:
- Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures
- Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware and prepping components for welding or final assembly
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements
- Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies (RDS) to support smooth production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements
- Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging (training provided as needed)
- Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE requirements, including respirators when required for certain materials
- Setup and teardown welding / assembly workstations
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

- Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
Job Requirements:
- 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
- Basic proficiency with MIG welding
- Must be able to read and use a tape measure
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
- Exposure to TIG or Stick welding
- Welding certifications (e.g., AWS/ASME) or technical school coursework
- Previous experience with generator enclosure assembly
- Previous experience in Roofs, Doors and Sub-assembly (RDS)
Tools, Equipment and Technology:
- Welding and fitting tools, tape measure, overhead cranes, respirator etc.
Environmental Conditions:
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
