Chapter 74 Welding Program Teacher: Gateway Regional School

Gateway Regional School District is seeking a Welding Teacher.
Qualified Candidates Must:
●Have a MA Vocational Tech License (Welding) (August 25, 2026) Required
●Have a Bachelor’s Degree
●Have experience teaching in a middle school or high school setting (preferred)
●Have experience using, and teaching how to use, equipment
●Have knowledge of Chapter 74 programs and the requirements
●Have strong written and verbal communication skills
●Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and succeed.
Professional Responsibilities Include:
●Teach welding and related technical courses at the high school level, aligned with Chapter 74 program standards and industry expectations.
●Ensure all students complete required safety training, including OSHA certification, and maintain strict adherence to shop safety protocols at all times.
●Monitor and document student progress toward required competencies, technical hours, and program completion benchmarks.
●Maintain an organized, safe, and industry-standard shop environment, including proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
●Collaborate with community partners, local businesses, and industry representatives to support authentic learning experiences, student projects, and potential work-based learning opportunities.
●Facilitate and oversee student participation in real-world projects that build technical skill, employability skills, and professionalism.
●Integrate academic skills (math, reading, technical writing) into vocational instruction to support student success.
●Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials and post-secondary pathways, including employment, apprenticeships, and further education.
●Collaborate with other vocational teachers, academic staff, and support personnel to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and English learners.
●Participate in program advisory committee meetings and contribute to ongoing program improvement efforts.
●Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, competencies, and safety certifications.
●Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student progress, expectations, and opportunities.
●Participate in assigned duties per the contract.
●Attend staff meetings, professional development, required trainings, and other meetings during the course of the school year.
●Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with industry standards, technologies, and instructional practices.
●Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
●Perform other duties as requested by administration.
Rate of pay: $52,803-$91,482, dependent upon education and experience.
