Infiltrator Water Technologies is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfield and concrete septic wastewater system components. We sell our products through wholesale distribution across the United States and Canada for use on properties with onsite wastewater treatment systems.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This position utilizes the incumbent's training, experience, and knowledge in fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment. This position is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance and installation of service equipment, including mold heating systems etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture

- Starts up and shuts down equipment under power within the company Lockout/Tagout safety procedures and OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) requirements.
> Fabrication
- Monitors work orders on a daily basis.
- Fabricates and assembles equipment by cutting, burning, welding, drilling, bolting, gluing, machining, and other typical fabrication techniques.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings.
- Plans set up and operates machine shop machine tools such as drill press, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, collants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds. Uses typical machinist's hand tools.
- Determines needs and orders materials for fabrication of new and repair of existing equipment and works with purchasing staff for procurement.
- Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
- Helps fabricate hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and systems on plant equipment and machinery.
> Maintenance and Repair
- Helps troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems on plant equipment.
- Plans setup and operates typical machine shop machine tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds. Uses typical machinist's hand tools.
- Performs repair, rebuilding, or overhaul work of manufacturing or services equipment from blueprints, company manufacturing manuals, written or verbal instructions. Starts up and shuts down equipment under power within the company Lockout/Tagout safety procedures and OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration)
- As necessary, works as a member of mechanical/construction teams on the construction, installation or repairs to machinery and structures, working with other trades such as machinists, welders, Carpenters, electricians, etc.
- Provides inspections and double checks work.
- Monitors work orders on a daily basis.
> Communication
- Communicates with engineers and product designers, providing input on manufacturing capability for newly formed products and machinery.
- Attends and participates in team meetings and discussions.
> Installation
- Communicates with engineers and product designers, providing input on manufacturing capability for newly formed products and machinery.
- Assists in writing the SOP's (StandardOperatingProcedures) for production machine and/or tooling equipment.
- Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards.
> May be called upon to clean manufacturing equipment with solvents and paint machinery.
> Work is to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- At least two years of welding experience and one year reading blueprints.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and circuits
- Knowledge and skills to operate machinery and testing equipment of varying types for the diagnostics and repair of plant equipment.
- Knowledge and skills to operate basic machine shop equipment.
- Ability to make high quality welds using electric and gas systems.
- Ability to use cutting torch.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to use measuring devices and equipment for the inspection of manufactured products and machinery.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and change priorities with little notice.
- Requires a very high degree of precision and quality.
- Ability to follow instruction and work independently.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver's license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor production environment involving some limited exposures to Acetylene and Nitrogen gases, varying quantities of gaseous carbon dioxide, paints, and solvent fumes, diisocyanate, cyclohexanone, methyl methacrylate, and styrene. Exposure levels are below standard limits, and respirators are available. Some exposure to glare generated from welding and cutting torch processes, cuts and scrapes which require the wearing of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, face shields, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, time viewing a computer screen, prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete floors, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, repetitive foot and hand movement with extensive use of hands requiring good manual dexterity. Regular job duties require frequent unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs., lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
